I'm working for a Youth Exchange organization, and your Real World Gridview could be a tremendous timesaver to use it on their website.

The problem is that I cannot find any installation explanations.
The latest version I find on Dotplex includes only a .dll and a .pdb file

To develop this website I'm using Visual Studio 2005 as a beginner and I know only VB, no C.

I notice that can include the dll in the VS toolbox and drop the control on a page.
Further it is easy to define the datasource.
Then I've added a button and defined the button name in the gridview objet.
I notice the dll and the pdb appear in the app_code folder

However since there seems to have been many successive versions I cannot determine what has to be done next :

1. Include something in the web.config ?
2. Include the control in the global assembly cache ?
3. Put any other file in the app-code folder ?
4. Write a script under the button_click event ?
5. If so, is there a simple example in VB somewhere ?
6. Is a global.asax file required ?

Here is my code for a super simple application where I want to bulk update one column :
-----------------------------------
<%@ Page Language="VB" %>

<%@ Register Assembly="RealWorld.Grids" Namespace="RealWorld.Grids" TagPrefix="cc1" %>

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

<script runat="server">
Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs)
Response.Cache.SetCacheability(HttpCacheability.NoCache)
End Sub
</script>

<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" >
<head runat="server">
<title>Untitled Page</title>
</head>
<body>
<form id="form1" runat="server">
<div>
<br />

I would recommend downloading the source that is available under the "Source Code" tab and taking a look at the example pages that are included in the source. As far as the dll, you will add a reference to your project and choose that dll.

Not sure where the VB source code is located?
